The Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) welcomes the publication of the long-awaited National Health Insurance (NHI) white paper.
 
TAC supports the principles of social solidarity and risk-sharing that underpin NHI. We consider a progressive and an effectively structured and implemented NHI to be essential to the achievement of universal health coverage in South Africa in the medium to long term.

I thank you for the opportunity to address you. I am the General Secretary of the Treatment Action Campaign here in South Africa. We have more than 8,000 members and 182 branches across the country. CAPE TOWN, 5th DECEMBER 2015: Today activists disrupted the calm halls of the 46th Union World Conference on Lung Health.
