BARCELONA, OCTOBER 30th, 2014 —Members of the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) joined activists from across the world who interrupted the Japanese pharmaceutical company Otsuka’s symposium at the 45th Conference on Lung Health, calling for immediate broad compassionate use access to delamanid, Otsuka’s new drug to treat multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB).

BARCELONA, 29th OCTOBER 2014: Today at the opening plenary of the 45th Conference on Lung Health in Barcelona, activists from across the globe called on governments to dramatically increase spending on research and development (R&D) for new treatments for tuberculosis (TB). Treatment options for people with multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) are particularly challenging. Spending must be tripled to meet the US$2 billion annual minimum required according to the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Plan to Stop TB.

His pedigree includes a staggering 15 Comrades Ultra-Marathons, 10 Two Oceans Ultra-Marathons and many more, at least 300 races over his 18 year running career.
