On 10 August 2011, the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC), Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), the HIV Clinicians Society of Southern Africa (HIVSOC) and SECTION27 hosted a meeting of scientists, clinicians, policy makers, government and activists to ignite South Africa’s response to the tuberculosis (TB) epidemic. The meeting looked at the challenges of the epidemic, as well as opportunities to improve the country's response so that we can reduce new TB cases and improve the cure rate.
